Closer to Nature

Beardsley Zoo

2026 / Campaign

There are only so many hours in a weekend, and come summer break, schedules fill up fast. For the Beardsley Zoo, that means competition is stiff for people’s time and discretionary spending. Being labeled “a small zoo in Bridgeport” undersells the experience and impact just one visit can have.

The Zoo’s location and approachable size are genuine advantages. It’s not a sprawling theme park, meaning wildlife conservation isn’t a line item; it’s a priority, and guests are able to see up close how their support benefits local, national, and international conservation efforts. Proximity and intimacy make the Beardsley Zoo a great destination, whether you have all day or only a couple of hours.

Our “Closer to Nature” campaign worked on multiple fronts:

  • Geography: Nowhere else in Connecticut gets you this close to this many animals.

  • Layout: A smaller footprint makes it easy to see everything.

  • Emotion: The Beardsley Zoo has been around for more than 100 years, building memories, deeper connections, and interest in species we share the world with.

  • Impact: Generosity of giving increases by 75%1 when people can see who or what they’re supporting. In this case, the Zoo’s 300+ resident animals.
